| 5/01/03: | I believe Jessi does not look at herself as a hero. Who would know that they are a hero. Only after time has passed do heros' understand what they have accomplished. I'm sure she suffers from survivors guilt, her fallen brothers and sisters and the families of those who have gone before her, will she be able to come to terms with her own heroism. Some old soldiers and sailors like myself will say only those in the graves are true heros, but after you live as long as I have do you understand that it is the spirit of what you were willing to do that makes you a hero. So Jessi, in this aspect please rest assured that you are a hero. So is your brother, father, and mother. I was very impressed to see how your family reacted after they heard of your capture. Not knowing your fate they kept the faith. Your brother represented you and your family well. My heart goes out to your Mom and Dad. I can't imagine what they were going through. But your brother was so brave. Your Dad has a great heart that I am sure most americans wish there dad was just like your Dad. I wish peace to you all. I hope the recovery process goes well. I have had several back operations, and open heart surgery and I know that it is wise to give yourself at least a year before you decide whether or not your body is healing. You have so many possibilities ahead of you now, so stop and consider what lies ahead of you. You know you are capable of anything, so set your standards high. I've heard you want to teach. There is no other more honorable profession, but it is a job of personal sacrifice. You know about that. I wish you the best, and you and your family the best and the families of your fallen comrades (who are my heroes) nothing but the best. My heart goes out to you. Thank you for your sacrifices. Thanks to your family for you and their sacrifices. Gary Anderson |
| 5/01/03: | Today, I was sitting in a class reading a People's magazine for a magazine summary, and I read jessica's amazing story. I'm a 15 year old girl and I think Jessica's story shows all men that a women are strong too. I send all of my prayers to Jessica and her family. Jessica is someone I really look up to. I think that young girls need someone like Jessica as a role-modle rather than Britney Spears or someone. Jessica really accomplished something in her life. She didn't need to wear a mini-skirt and show clevage to do this. I respect her as a woman. I hope that her parents are really proud of her. Goodluck Jessica! and Godbless! |
| 5/01/03: | Dear, Jessica even as far as being a Nigeria, I quite appriciate your heroic efforts it is quite wonderful for the world to have an encourageing teneger like you, more greze to your elbow and many more fruitful years of humanity to the world. Hugs and kisses I will always admire you all my life. Welocome Jessica!!! Welocmeour queen!!! Welcome our hero |
| 5/01/03: | Not only are you a true solider, an American Patriot, a "hero" to this country, you are a hero to me personally that may not mean anything to you at this time. But you will understand over time, you see, you are a symbol, one that every former military as well as current ones will come to know you and realize what you have gone through, yet you didn't give up. That comes from excellent training and a true belief in "America." One that you would give up your life for if needed. I was an a navy corpsman in the Vietnam War that served with the Marines on the front lines. I have seen many types of wounds, some serious an other less so. You still didn't give up even with your wounds. You will always be a shinning light in my life, and you are always in my prayers. The very best wishes for you and your recovery. I will always remain a true member of your prayer team. God speed. ALAN G. THOMPSON, A PROUD AMERICAN, A PROUD VIETNAM VETERAN |
| 5/04/03: | Dear Jessica, my name is Susan Gloria Kressel and my father served in the army during World War II and got a medal for bravery. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You seem like a lovely young girl. Someday I hope by a miracle that it would be my privilege to speak with you and possibly meet you. I made something very special for you and will be sending it to the donation site at the Wirt County Courthouse. If possible just let me know that you received it, and you’re always in my prayers, because about others I care. Sending you my prayers and good wishes, Susan Gloria Kressel (aka Susi) |

| 7/30/03: | Jessica,
In a way we are the same, two women serving our country but more then that serving our Lord. I am using your story in my Prayer lessons to my 1st and 2nd graders at church. Please know that even though you are home that people are still praying for you because you have been through a lot and you just don't forget all of that over night. May God continue to bless you and may He soften the memories that you have of this part of your life.
In His Grip, Diane |

Red was before white; so the story goes. But now we are one, seems like Aeons ago. United we stand as Nation #1; To stamp out fear for everyone. You, our sons and daughters, give so much more than the rest of us; Because you are the best of us. I will lend you my soul to hold you close, for it can, you know; It’s stronger than anything here on earth. May it wrap around you, as only a soul can; with love and protection more enduring than man. For the soul is not born; It came from above; Extending beyond the physical love. God loved you long before your birth, May He surround you with this loving verse. Judy, Laurie, & Lezli We wish you a bright future and give our thanks to you for representing Americans as bravely as you did!!!! May God bless and keep you forever. Our gratitude. |

Dear Jessi, first I would like to wish you a speedy recovery. My name is Jeremy Howell, I used to be in the Army. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C. Unfortunately I was unable to deploy. Yet, I did a lot with an engineer unit working with intel and transportation for deploying soldiers. I have been following every single article on you. I would like to tell you that you are one of the most HONORABLE soldiers I have seen in todays military. Along with a very high level of Integrity. I now am an NCO in a ROTC Unit at an Ohio college. Even though it is not active duty or reserve, it is still a uniform I love to wear. Sorry for rambling on. At any rate, the best of luck to you and your family. May God be with you in all that you do. You may contact me if you would like.
Happy Holidays.. Howell,Jeremy CDT,SGT ROTC,UT |

America'S Hero,Jessica Lynch I'm a soldier too.was the word That came out of her mouththe little girl With eyes of heavenly bluejust a kid herself, Doing a job of a man, Rise up america, And give this girl a hand.her broken bones will heal, But her broken heart will remain, Her best friend died by her side, In her heart she will always have pain, She didnt claim to be a hero, But to me she will always be , She was doing the job of a man, And that's a hero to me. It's time to let her live her life, And enjoy her wedding day, But don't forget to salute the flag, And remember jessica lynch on veterans day Cleo Flener Copyright ©2004 Cleo Flener |
