The news had been reporting about the 507th and the POWs and MIA's since the ambush on March 23rd, but I first learned about Jessica the night of Saturday, March 29th. I was overwhelmed with her story. My father served in the Korean War and was captured by the Chineese when he was 19 years old too. I'm quite aware of the treatment and conditions that POWs have to endure. All I could think was "how could something like this happen to such a sweet young girl?" I couldn't sleep through the night. I kept scaring myself about her situation and fearing the worst while hopeing for the best. I prayed and prayed for Jessi.

I arose Sunday morning and watched a morning news show as the reporter interviewed my father about being a prisoner of war. As he spoke I thought of Jessica and wondered if she was going through the same conditions. Every day since I have been glued to the news, on the TV and the web, looking for any news about Jessi.

I continue to pray often throughout the days. I'm not the most religious person or the most prayerful, but I want to do something to help, and prayer seems to be about all I can do. I wish I could go get her myself, but that's nonsense.

I've found in the past that it helps me deal with troubling issues if I write about it and get my thoughts out in the open. I created this website to honor Jessica Lynch and connect with others who share the same emotions as me.

Jessica's Prayer
Lord I ask that you watch over Jessica and protect her body and her soul. Keep her safe and keep her faithful. Let her know you love her and let that give her strength. Let her know that her family loves her and believes in her, and let that give her strength. Let he know that America loves her, and let that give her strength.
Lord, our savior, I pray that you save dear Jessi. She is your child, and she is our child too. Take care of her and watch over her. Bless dear Jessi and her family. Give them strength and faith that you will bring this precious young girl home. She is your creation, your gift to all who know her. We are not ready for her to leave this world. Let the goodness that you have created in her come home and be be shared with all. Give her the chance to do good in this world, to live a life that glorifies your name.
I pray with all my heart, my soul, my tears, my life.

I request that you also pray for Jessi. And I invite you to email me your thoughts and/or prayers that I can post on this site. See the link below.

Softball teammate Jeccica Baileys: "I hope she's safe, and I'm sure that God's taking care of her and He knows where she's at," Baileys said. "Even though it's a bad situation, He's got a plan."

Pam Nicolais, a relative who is acting as spokeswoman for the family, said "Right now, they feel (that) the only thing they and Jessi need is everybody's prayers."
